Biography
Jing was born to an artist family in Malaysia, She received her BFA in Interior Design from Academy of Art University, San Francisco, USA in 1995, and MS from University of Lincoln, Lincoln, UK in 2003. From 1996 to 1998, she was a visiting lecturer at International Modern Design Art College (IMDAC) of Yunnan University and IMDAC of Inner Mongolia Normal University. She was then appointed the vice president of IMDAC of Inner Mongolia Normal University. In search of her inner satisfaction and calling, she decided to go full time in painting after working as a lecturer and designer for a couple years. Jing received numerous local and international awards including Malaysia 11th National Furniture Design Competition (1999), Malaysia IFDC Award for Open Category (2003), Korea International Travel Souvenir Design Competition (2005), Italy Design Boom Social Awareness Award (2006), finalist in Italy ARTINGENUA Prize (2008) and The Hunting Art Prize of Houston, Texas (2009). In 2010, she was one of the winners of Susquehanna International Art Competition and her artwork “Fishing Village” was featured as the lead image in one of the chapter of the book "River Art"" sponsored by West Shore Gallery and Sunbury Press. In 2014, she was selected as “Asia's 10 Most Inspiring Visual Artist” featured in Top 10 of Asia magazine. In 2018, her artwork titled ‘Malaysia' has been selected as one of the artworks to be displayed for "Art In The City" on strategically located billboard in Kuala Lumpur. In March 2020, her artwork “Playmate” is selected as one of the 500 ink masterpieces worldwide and was exhibited at Ink Global 2020, Hong Kong. All the selected works were included in the publication of Ink Global 2020 paintings album. In September 2020, she held a joint exhibition with the theme "Conservation" at the National Art Gallery, hoping to use her works to call attention to and protect endangered animal. Besides, her artworks are exhibited in several countries and are collected by private collectors worldwide.
